Depression in Alzheimer's patients associated with declining ability to handle daily activities

More symptoms of depression and lower cognitive status are independently associated with a more rapid decline in the ability to handle tasks of everyday living, according to a study by [Columbia University](http://www.topix.com/colleges/columbia-university) Medical Center researchers in this month's Journal of [Alzheimer's](http://www.topix.com/health/alzheimers-disease) Disease .
