Diagnosis often delayed for bipolar disorder

It is not uncommon for the diagnosis of bipolar disorder to be delayed for years; thus, resulting in a significant delay in treatment, notes David J. Miklowitz, PhD, a professor of psychiatry at the UCLA Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior.
